Oklahoma

My husband, brother and I just got back from a long weekend in Oklahoma. We went to visit Grandad and watch the rodeo. It was incredibly beautiful because it was abnormally green for this time of year. Usually everything is brown and dry but there were wild sunflowers lining the sides of the roads and all the fields were green. I even gathered a bunch of wildflowers to bring home. Now I have an awesome, free bouquet for my kitchen.

I am always amazed at how many stars you can see at night on Grandad's farm.

I finally made something new!

I have been out of town the past couple of weeks and have really missed my sewing machine. So I am off my "real" job today and have been working away. I have been bouncing the idea of making a t-shirt around for a while. I have finally put my idea into an actual project. Here is my first one.

Deserae's New Necklace

Deserae belly dances and wanted me to make a necklace that matched her tribal costume she wears when she performs at the Renaissance Faire this summer. I think it turned out pretty good. I hope she likes it.

I am so in love with this new fabric. It reminds me of the 80s when my family lived in San Diego, CA. I have already made two bags with it, one for me and one to sell. I made them both a little differnet so no two bags of mine are alike, but I just had to have one for myself.

New Promo Pins!

The request for promos and samples has been going around alot on Etsy recently. I have been racking my brain trying to think of a fun (& inexpensive) way to add an little oomph to my business cards. I came across KittyCrossBones a while back on myspace. They make promo items like pins, mirrors, key chains, etc. So I decided to order some 1" pins and they turned out great! They worked with me on my design to make sure it would look the best on the pin. I personally thought that was going above and beyond to make sure my item looked the best it could. Plus they are always having sales so you can always get a good deal. I will be sending these pins out with a promo coupon to gauge the reponse. I will definitely be back for more.
